RBTI is a method created by Dr. Carey Reams, a mathematician + scientist trained in mathematics, biochemistry, and biophysics.
RBTI stands for Reams Biological Theory of Ionization -
"a working explanation about the basic ionic energy composition and function of biological life."
- Daughter, Betty Reams
So how does that translate…
RBTI is a noninvasive, seven-part test performed here in the office on fresh urine and saliva samples, preferably 2 hours after a meal. Specific instruments and chemical agents are utilized to test the urine and saliva for results to calculate your equation.
It is a modality of analysis and an effective tool for assessing the body's internal terrain and how it utilizes the nutrients we consume into energy for all bodily functions.
The motivation behind RBTI is to keep the body in perfect health by analyzing seven measurements of urine and saliva samples.
These measurements derive from testing for carbohydrate levels (sugar), pH (speed of digestion + elimination process), conductivity (salts), cell debris, nitrate nitrogen (protein-in liver function) + ammonia nitrogen (protein-out kidney function).
pH is the core of RBTI.
It should be corrected and balanced "above all else" as it indicates digestive health and overall liver function.
Five patterns emerge from pH readings, each with its specific symptoms and approach to correction.
Once testing is complete, your RBTI equation is calculated.
This equation shows which healing range you fall into by plotting it on a chart for visual representation.
Healing Ranges vary from A – to E, with the weakest link in the equation being the range you fall into.
Follow-up testing frequency recommendations are based on which healing range you're currently in.
One goal of determining your RBTI equation
is to see which range you fall into- bring you through the 'healing ranges'- eventually into 'Range A' for optimal health.
Using your equations, we are discovering how to best support your body's return to homeostasis, or balance, for proper functioning.
Your equation and these five ranges help me determine what to suggest adding, limiting, or avoiding in your environment, diet + lifestyle.
In conjunction, it supports determining which body systems to address + the related products, food, or liquids to consider for optimal health.
The second goal is to evaluate and balance the numbers through customized food and lifestyle recommendations with as little supplementation as possible.
RBTI is a valuable modality that gives us a snapshot of what occurs internally within the body's electro-biochemical structure.
While it is not used to treat or diagnose medical illness, it does assist us in addressing and reversing physiological dysfunctional patterns via personalized lifestyle recommendations, expediting the process of finding balance and discovering what you may need on your unique health and wellness journey.
“Above all else, get the pH right!” – Dr. Carey Reams
pH is the core of RBTI and can be worked on standalone to bring optimal balance to your saliva and urine pH.
Your urine and saliva pH level represents the digestive transit time of your upper and lower digestions.
One test on your saliva pH provides information on carbohydrate breakdown, B12 + K2 deficiency, HCl levels in the stomach, and upper digestive transit time (mouth – stomach).
Urine pH reveals information on the assimilation of nutrients in the small intestines, large intestines congestion, and reproductive health.
The optimal pH reading is 6.4/6.4. At this level, the microbiome flourishes while pathogens like parasites, candida, viruses, and bacteria thrive at both extremes- acidic and alkaline.
We correct the pH to assimilate nutrients at the right times and eliminate toxins more efficiently. If the (2) pH readings differ - upper and lower digestions move at different speeds.
The larger the split between the numbers, the fewer nutrients are being digested, absorbed, and assimilated for energy.
As pH numbers shift, becoming more acidic or alkaline, the body enters stages of degeneration.
pH numbers correlate to the Stages of Healing - 'Patterns 1 – 5' —with 'Pattern-1' being the best possible range for nutrient assimilation and waste elimination.
pH patterns are not diagnostic but indicative of the progress of healing. More than just the physical aspect affects the body's pH—emotions and stress must be addressed.
Many people think systemic alkalinity is the answer.
Many cancers, like prostate, lymphatic, and breast cancers, still survive in an alkaline environment.
Dr. Otto Warburg explains,
“It is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by the fermentation of sugar that parlays to a prime cause of cancer.”
BALANCING THE pH-
If you don’t fix the ‘why,’ the problem will return.
To maintain optimal pH, foundational lifestyle recommendations must be followed, with as few supplements as possible used to help achieve a more optimal pH quickly.
These include proper nutrition, adequate and appropriate hydration, movement, sleep, elimination, stress, and emotional wellness - combined with Dr. Ream's various Calcium supplements.
Cleanses, supplemental nutrition, homeopathic remedies, colon cleanses, MRT, Bach Flower, and other adjunctive therapies support optimal pH.
When foundations are in place and the pH is optimal,
the internal terrain becomes a healthier environment where probiotics flourish, nutrients are absorbed and assimilated, and you become less susceptible to illness foreign invaders.
As digestive health and lifestyle choices improve, there is less need for supplementation.
We begin this process by addressing the digestive system-
heal and seal the gut lining, increase pre/probiotics, provide digestive support with digestive enzymes every meal, and balance the pH so transit time is appropriate for proper assimilation of nutrients and waste elimination.
For each client,
I use a customized approach and muscle test for supplements, so there is no guessing.
I then combined your MRT results with Traditional Chinese Medicine elements of FTN Analysis- observing for signs of organ support - to help determine proper recommendations.
RBTI is a noninvasive, seven-part test done on urine and saliva. It is an effective tool for assessing the body's internal terrain, how it utilizes the nutrients we bring in for energy, and how it eliminates toxins or waste.
pH is the core of RBTI, indicating digestive health and overall liver function.
One test done on saliva indicates your pH levels, which correlate with carbohydrate breakdown, B12 + K2 deficiencies, HCl levels in the stomach, and upper digestion transit time (mouth-stomach).
Tests on the urine sample indicate nutrient assimilation in the small and large intestines, congestion in the large intestines, and reproductive health.
The body will always attempt to repair and heal itself.
It works to maintain a narrow range in our body chemistry or various pH levels, using energy reserves + minerals to keep our pH balanced. This natural inclination drives the methodology + practical applications of RBTI.
As a practitioner, I seek to support my clients in returning to homeostasis or remaining in excellent health. When the body struggles to reach this state, it pulls energy, vitamins, and minerals from stored reserves to maintain balance. When reserves are reduced, the body starts breaking down its tissue to obtain the required nutrients. We build energy reserves through proper diet, pure water, right living, clean air, sunshine, rest, balanced emotions, + faith.
Now, why is any of this important?
First, one must understand the Terrain vs. Germ Theory.
This philosophy is based on the idea that exposure to a pathogen does not cause illness.
Illness occurs when reserve energy is lost, and the body's ability to maintain optimal function ceases due to insufficient nutrients being brought in to meet the required energy output.
The terrain becomes weakened when energy reserves become depleted, and the body begins to break itself down to release energy and nutrients.
When the terrain is weakened or deficient, pathogens take advantage, entering the system to destroy weak tissue, and illness ensues.
RBTI gives us a snapshot of your internal terrain's workings and specifies recommendations for strengthening and restoring it to its optimal functioning state.
The perfect RBTI equation is- 1.5 6.4/6.4. 6-7C. .04M. 3/3.
This is known as 'Range A,' and you maintain reserve energy in this range- as nutrients are fully utilized when brought into the body.
If numbers from these tests do not fall in the perfect range, more support or changes may be needed, with the weakest link correlating to your current healing range.
For example, someone in 'Range A' would have a much less restrictive diet because their body is appropriately assimilating nutrients + eliminating toxins.
In contrast, someone in Range E would indicate weak digestion and recommend easily digestible foods.
Once the weak links in the equation are supported via recommendations, a follow-up appointment should be conducted based on which healing range you currently fall into.
(2 weeks- for Range D/E- then monthly until 'Range B' is reached. 'Range A' calls for testing once per season for the first year, then every 6-12 months.)
pH is the core of RBTI.
Our pH represents upper and lower digestion efficiency, with transit time or 'speed of digestion' directly correlating to either an alkaline or acidic pH, which affects how nutrients and minerals are utilized.
pH numbers correlate to the Stages of Healing—Patterns 1- 5—with each pattern containing unique symptoms and recommendations.
A pH of 6.4/6.4 is optimal for proper nutrient assimilation, waste elimination, and a healthy microbiome, but it is uncomfortable for Candida, parasites, and other pathogens.
If pH numbers don't match, the upper and lower digestions are moving at different speeds. The larger the split, the fewer nutrients are being digested, absorbed, and assimilated in the body for energy use. As pH numbers shift, becoming more acidic or alkaline, the body enters stages of degeneration, resulting in loss of energy reserves. This leads to a weakened terrain, opportunistic pathogens taking advantage, and illness occurring.
People with low reserves have less room for a cheating lifestyle, so it is of the utmost importance to consider lifestyle choices and what we consume daily as more than just food—they are "fuel" for our bodies to function properly!
I aim to correct your pH and balance your RBTI equation, utilizing a customized approach to guide you through the healing stages. This includes fixing the foundations and addressing digestion speed via whole food and lifestyle recommendations, with as little supplementation as possible. As digestive health and lifestyle choices improve, there will be less need for supplementation.
Dr. Reams's specific calcium supplements support raising, lowering, or maintaining pH levels—specifically, supporting and addressing the digestive system and liver.
To reach ideal health within this system, we must begin by supporting the liver so all other structures can function properly- as the liver is responsible for converting the food we eat into the energy we can use- substance to frequency. When the liver lacks, all other body areas will not receive the nutrients in a form best used by all the cells.
Top liver physiology depends upon foundational lifestyle choices, occasional supplementation, + restorative therapies, including optimal hydration, proper breathing, iron, calcium, + supportive herbs.
Utilizing RBTI to balance your equation via food, supplementation, and lifestyle recommendations provides a simple way to make changes at a cellular level while discovering and creating balance much quicker than traditional trial and error.
